About Our School
At Jimmie Tyler Brashear Elementary School, our mission is to empower scholars to reach their highest potential, while laying the foundation for success in college, career and beyond. To accomplish this, we provide a safe and secure learning environment with a rigorous, hands-on curriculum that promotes collaboration and allows students to be stakeholders in the educational process.
Over the years, Brashear Elementary has implemented many innovative research-based instructional practices and extracurricular programs, which have culminated in our school earning the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) highest rating, Met Standard with 5 distinctions - Achievement in Mathematics, Achievement in Reading and Top 25% in student progress, Closing the Achievement Gaps, and Post Secondary Readiness.
Many of our students complete their prekindergarten through fifth-grade education and are then accepted into one of Dallas ISD's magnet programs. We pride ourselves in challenging our students to perform to their highest potential.
The Jimmie Tyler Brashear staff frequently connects with parents and community members to ensure student success. Parents are considered valued partners and are encouraged to participate in school activities. Parent involvement opportunities include assisting in classrooms, participating in PTA, and serving on the Site-Based Decision Making and Campus Improvement Planning committees.
